I’ve always been a Wine Merchant; it says so in my passport.

I’ve got the Oddbins gene, as many in the industry do, from 10 years at the sharp end. This was followed by stints with several specialist merchant importers, with a bias towards the wines of Italy (and in one case, Champagne: Jacquesson is still the best), selling wine to independent wine merchants, pubs, restaurants, hotels and private clients. I now work freelance hosting wine courses, producing marketing material for independent wine merchants and as a local journalist. If missing I am to be found by water with a fishing rod, just in case you’d not worked that out by now.

Oakham in the county of Rutland is home, so very conveniently located for Rutland Water, and it’s only an hour and a half back into London.
